Back To The Future from 1985 is a classic science fiction comedy. It’s about a high school student who is sent thirty years into the past with a time-traveling DeLorean. The Einstein Experiment: When Marty finally meets the Doc (Christopher Lloyd) and sees the DeLorean, he’s very confused, and so are we. But after Einstein (the dog) travels into the future one minute, Doc Brown explains everything about the car in perfect detail: the Flux Capicator, the time circuits, 88 mph — and it’s all given urgency by the fact we, along with the character, just saw something amazing for the first time. Seeing the stunned look on Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox’s) face, expressing a sentiment generally echoed by the audience at the time. It’s a truly great moment that helps jump-start the action on a great film.
Marty McFly: Wait a minute. Wait a minute Doc, uh, are you telling me you built a time machine … out of a DeLorean?
Doc: The way I see it, if you’re going to build a time machine into a car, why not do it with some style?
