Over the past two seasons, we have been teased of a coming war between the system’s various nations and followed the crew of a stolen warship, The Rocinante, that plays its own role in navigating the troubles.
The cold war between Earth and Mars is now becoming a hot war when The Expanse returns for season 3.
The core crew remains largely unchanged, of course: We still spend a lot of time with Captain Jim Holden (Steven Strait) and his band of misfits on the Rocinante, pilot Alex Kamal (Cas Anvar), engineer Naomi Nagata (Dominique Tipper), and mechanic Amos Burton (Wes Chatham), who come from all parts of the system.
While also following the political maneuverings of Chrisjen Avasarala (Shohreh Aghdashloo), Sadavir Errinwright (Shawn Doyle) and Sadavir Errinwright (Chad L. Coleman), while the conflicts between Earth, Mars, and the Outer Planets Alliance (OPA) build in intensity.
With the mysterious glowing virus-like alien goo that kills everything it touches, the “protomolecule”, growing into a potential world – solar system – changing event.
The board is set, the pieces are moving. We come to it at last…
