The original Clash of the Titans was released on the same exact day as something called Raiders of the Lost Ark in 1981 – and suffered the consequences. The movie was remade in 2010 for a new generation to experience the story of the great Perseus. Directed by Louis Leterrier, it starred Sam Worthington, Gemma Arterton, Mads Mikkelsen, Alexa Davalos, Liam Neeson, and Ralph Fiennes.
The film is a tale of power between men and kings, and kings and gods. Perseus (Sam Worthington), a demigod brought up as a man, is powerless to put away his family from Hades (Ralph Fiennes), the unforgiving god of the underworld, who feeds himself from human fear.
Perseus put himself upfront to organize a dangerous mission to defeat Hades before he could overthrow Zeus (Liam Neeson) and expose hell on earth. Leading a group of courageous men, Perseus heads off on a dangerous journey into the heart of forbidden worlds. Fighting with worldly demons and fearsome beasts, he will only go beyond this challenge once he recognizes his power as a god and disregards his fate and create his own destiny.
The Kraken is one of the most well-known sea monsters told in legends. It is a legendary cephalopod-like sea monster in Scandinavian folklore of giant size. The giant squid-like monster that has the ability to sink ships with its massive constricting tentacles. Authors over the years have postulated that the legend may have originated from sightings of giant squids that may grow to 13–15 meters (40–50 feet) in length. The sheer size and fearsome appearance attributed to the Kraken have made it a common ocean-dwelling monster in various fictional works. Although the Kraken in Clash of the Titans does not exactly resemble the classic image, it nonetheless bears the mark of a monster with its sheer size, an affinity for destruction, and bone-chilling roar.
The Aaron Sims Company released some new concept art for the remake of Clash of the Titans. Their concepts included character and creature designs, which show several variations of the Kraken and Medusa.
